AMDは昨年末（2023年末）にAnti-Lagのアップグレード版「Anti-Lag+」を展開しようとしましたが、Anti-Lag利用ユーザーが人気対戦ゲームからBanされることがわかり、AMDは速やかにドライバからAnti-Lag+を削除。結果、AMDのインプットラグ低減機能搭載ドライバ展開の試みは一旦頓挫しました。
AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2
オリジナルAnti-Lagと同様に「Anti-Lag+」もドライバベース。AMD独自のライブラリを介しグラフィックスAPIコールをリダイレクトすることで機能するので、ゲーム本体のプログラム視点では「動作しているのかわからない（認識されない）」ことを意味します。ある意味これが利点だったわけですが、現在人気のオンライン対戦型ゲームに実装されているアンチチートツールによってはチート行為だと検出される恐れがあるものになっていました。
それを受けて、ドライバベースのAnti-Lagを諦めゲーム内設定に統合される「Anti-Lag 2」に生まれ変わった、というのがざっくりとした経緯で、その「統合されたゲーム」の1つがCounter-Strike 2です。
では、Anti-lag 2は何をしているのでしょうか？
AMDによれば「CPUのペースを制御しGPUのペースに合わせることで、キューに入れられるCPU作業の量を減らす」のだといい、これを有効にするとCounter-Strike 2のインプットラグが平均で約40％減少すると主張しています。

「for Anti-Lag 2 Technical Preview」と名前が付くAMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 24.5.1の別Ver.をインストールすることによって、Counter-Strike 2のゲーム内設定「Advanced Video」セクションにAnti-Lag 2の項目が出現し、自動的に有効（※）になります。

インプットラグを40%程度減らすことが「より多くの試合に勝つ」のに十分かどうかはわかりませんが、インプットラグ低減がきちんと機能しているとのAMDの主張はまさにその通りです。
