マイニングが人気だった時期にノートPC向けのモバイルdGPUがデスクトップPC向けに転用されるのが流行りましたが、そもそも公式でサポートされるものではなくドライバー等の問題もありました。

ですが「従来のデスクトップGPUよりも大幅に低コストで入手することができる」一部アジアや南米地域で人気があったのは事実。

videocardz.com愛好者の一人であるMattia Carnevali氏がNVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti（mobile）搭載グラボに関する情報を共有。GPU-Zと互換性があり最新版のドライバが動作するらしいです（※）。

スペックの違い
デスクトップPC向けdGPUとノートPC向けdGPUは仕様が違う場合が多く、このRTX 3080 Ti（mobile）もデスクトップPC向けのRTX 3080 Tiとはスペックが違います。

videocardz.comで示されている「RTX 3080 Ti（mobile）搭載グラボ」の場合、ベースクロックやブーストクロックは本家（？）GA103より低く設定されており、併せてTDPもより低い数値になっている、としています。
おすすめしません
3DMarkのテスト結果など興味深い内容なので、詳しくは同記事をチェックしていただきたいのですが、結論としてはこういった類のグラボは推奨しない、と述べています。
